Anxiety
Anxiety can present itself in many different ways, your experience of anxiety will most likely be completely different to another persons. That feeling of worry, fear, or dread which can be mild or severe. You may not even be able to explain the feeling, but you know it is there.
Anxiety affects us physiologically too. It can make our heart beat faster, we might feel breathless, sweaty, shaky or our stomach may feel like its turning over. Anxiety can trigger sudden changes in our behaviour or mood, and it can make us over cautious, and can cause us to avoid situations altogether.
Anxiety is problematic when our concerns spin out of control, or when the problem appears magnified with-in relatively harmless situations. Anxiety can be overwhelming, interfering with our daily life and relationships.
Anxiety is part of our Flight or Fright response where we need to respond to imminent physical danger, such as a snarling dog, or a psychological threat such as making a speech at that special function. Sometimes this Flight or Fright response is not accurate, for example when the threat is an imaginary one.
Hypnosis can be a valuable tool to help you achieve a balance. As an integrative therapist I offer NLP coaching sessions, and Thought Field Therapy as additional ways to tailor a programme for you.
